I am happy to show respect. I don’t want to burn churches, mosques or synagogues. Those with “faith” can always be relied upon for that. Religious faith will not die out so long as we fear death and the unknown. On their own account all but one religion must be wrong. Please just leave me alone? Leave me out of your Faithwars.
I am not baiting the faithful, I am just saying enough is enough, back off and leave me alone.
Even now, people of faith are planning my destruction. If they believe in an all knowing, all powerful and all loving God. Why aren’t they happy?
The level of the faithful’s intensity of intrusion on others varies with time and place but they seem never content with their own bliss in the afterlife but must seek to interfere with others for power in this world.
Religion is not just a menace to world civilisation, it has lately begun to assert its challenge to Australian civil society and so become a threat to my survival. So that even my sheltered existence gained by avoiding the arenas of “faithwars” is now threatened.
I guess we do cross swords because I do support those who are foully downtrodden by religion, The need to educate and stop the subjugation of women around the world, or take children for boy soldiers for instance. This is just an elementary duty of a self respecting human.
As an Australian, a free ticket to paradise has already been booked for whomever kills me in the name of a faith. By writing this, I set my-self up as more of a target. Do you not get that threatening me, and us, with death is the bad thing here!
It is not OK to tell me not to speak out lest I offend those who threaten me with death.
Those who commit violent atrocities of faith are “faithfully religious” . This is true whatever and whichever it is that they choose from the smorgasboard available in each of the primary handed down faiths. They will not rest until you and I bow to them.
Until recently, Christians could burn or silence anyone who asked unreasonable or inconvenient questions. Now it seems that Islam has taken over.
I have not “brought it on myself”. I just want to be left out of your faith, whatever and whichever it is that you choose from the religious smorgasboard. My rejection of your offer of paradise does not, yet, in Australia mean you can kill me but empty headed multi-culturalism is leading us to such cultural suicide.
In Europe they already have “Porcophobia” – the demand that Miss Piggy be removed from public view and that Winnie the pooh must lose his mate Piglet. The polio vaccine for children has been declared a UN plot to sterilise true believers. “Die of AIDS rather than use a condom” are all manifestations of cultural supremecy using religious terrorism.
Those of faith know that plagues are Divine. Violence, irrationality, intolerance, racism, tribalism, bigotry, sexism and looking forward to and bringing on the apocalypse are all tools available to the faithful.
Religion comes from the days of pre-history when nobody had the smallest idea about what was going on. Today, what we don’t know we have no need to fill in with the supernatural. And yet faith still says killing non-believers is not just OK but it is required and will be rewarded.
In the words of the woman who confronted the knife slashing killer of the unarmed British soldier on the streets of London. “You will lose..”
