Senator Nick was listening to my lobbying regarding Aboriginal Inequities in Indigenous Corporations. He and I travelled to visit constituents in the northern areas of South Australia, Port Augusta and Flinders Ranges. I also went to Canberra with him on three occasions for the purpose of lobbying politicians and bureaucrats.
During these times he was so keen to fit every business meeting possible in to the schedule – and did so – that I could barely keep up. The accommodation that we stayed in was clean, but basic, and the airfares and motor vehicles were always the lowest cost available.
When Nick stands up for proper parsimonious use of public funds – I think that he stands on firm grounds.
I say this even though he and I have parted company due to my work on Islam issues.
